Pros and Cons of Facebook Brand Timeline



The new Facebook brand timeline offers a lot of new features, but at the cost of losing some old favorites. Here is the break down.


Pros

Personified - Timeline heavily resembles that of personal profiles, including milestones. If used wisely this can help personify your brand and 


Analytics - For businesses its all about the ROI and timeline helps you track with the better analytics. Under the admin panel Facebook now tracks engagement, reach, and interactions.


Pinning / highlighting - You can now keep your best content at the top of your wall


Messages - Facebook now lets brands send private messages to followers and vice versa, something many had been wanting.


That giant cover photos - Pictures say a 1000 words and Facebook really allows you to brand yourself with the introduction of cover photos.


Cons

Tabs & Landing Pages - The major drawback with timeline is that loss of tabs. Okay, they are not comply gone but they are pretty hard to find and cannot be set to your landing page. That's right all the time and money you spend developing that prefect landing page is pretty much a waste now. 

Static Profile Picture Ratio - This won't bother most people, but I thought I would include it any ways. With timeline, facebook no longer allows for long rectauglar profile pictures. Your stuck with the square.
